Commissioning an Original Painting
I would love to bring your ideas and special memories to life in an original painting. If you are considering a commissioned artwork, I welcome you to get in touch so we can discuss the possibilities together.
How commissions work
Commissioned paintings are priced at least 2.5% above the artwork prices shown on my website.
This reflects the additional time and care involved in the commission process, including reviewing your reference photos, digitally preparing images where needed, and creating preliminary sketches for approval before the painting begins.
After discussing your ideas, I will send you a quote by email. If you would like to proceed, I will then provide a commission agreement for you to sign.
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required before any preparatory drawings or painting work begins.
During the creation process, I provide 2 to 3 progress reviews so you can follow the artwork as it develops.
Final payment is due once the artwork is completed and before delivery.
If needed, and depending on location, I may be able to travel to take additional photos, create drawings, or paint sketches on site for use as reference material. Please note this may involve an additional cost.
Reference photos
High-quality reference photos are essential for creating accurate portraits and landscapes. Multiple images are often helpful and can lead to the best result. Ideally, photos should be clear, well-lit, and unobstructed, as image quality can affect recognisability and realism in the final artwork. All reference images will be kept confidential.
Repainting a sold artwork
I am open to repainting a sold artwork; however, it will be created as a new original piece in my current painting style. Because each painting is handmade and unique, it will always differ slightly from the original work.
If you would like to commission a painting, I would be delighted to hear from you.
Please get in touch here to share your ideas, ask any questions, or begin discussing a piece created especially for you.
