Join VIP Studio News here Ask me any questions here Corrine x Corrine Rapley is an Australian landscape painter, working both outdoors En Plein Air and from her Bouvard home studio, south of Perth WA. Born at Donnybrook WA in 1962, Corrine’s artworks explore regions of Australian landscape hemmed by coastlines and waterways, a true-life record of her experiences and love for scenery. Her oil paintings are influenced by nature’s prismatic colour harmonies and how light plays and creates interesting shadow shapes. Recently her work has included gold leaf techniques to express the golden light of sun and moon. Corrine Rapley lived in The Pilbara, for 15 years with her family, working as a casual art lecturer at Pilbara TAFE and setting up Pebble Mouse Studio Art Gallery, Tom Price. An active exhibiting artist in NW art awards, winning Cossack Art Awards, Watercolour- Pilbara Landscape section, in 2002, before travelling Australia, 2008/2009. Settling at Mandurah WA in 2010, the artist worked casually for Jacksons Drawing Supplies, where her experience and knowledge about artists materials and products, colour mixing theory, and network connections with the local arts community were appreciated by local artists. Corrine resigned in December 2024 to concentrate on her Arts Practice full-time. Following a 12-month studio residency, in 2015 at Contemporary Art Spaces Mandurah, the City of Mandurah acquired an artwork for the city’s art collection, from her first solo exhibition themed "Whispers on the Wind and Water", 2016. In 2021 Corrine held her second solo exhibition – "Waterviews", at Gallows Gallery, Mosman Park WA, followed by a solo exhibition of selected works at the Mandurah Performing Art Centre later that year. “Impressions of Light,” about light source and light effects within the landscape was produced for her fourth solo exhibition, held at Lost Eden Creative, Dwellingup WA in 2023. During May 2025, "Golden Light" solo exhibition was held at Ellenbrook Arts HQ.
